Sleeveless down jackets

Looking for a women's sleeveless down jacket? Waterproof, breathable and insulating, they offer good thermal properties and freedom of movement.

At Precision Ski, we've got plenty of models for mid-season and winter alike!

Hiking jackets

Trekking, mountaineering, hiking - for your next high-altitude adventure, opt for an insulating, compressible jacket that's easy to carry. Showers, humidity, wind - weather conditions in the mountains can change rapidly. So to brave the chilly temperatures, opt for jackets with good insulating properties.

Take the NORTH FACE CANYONLANDS HYBRID JACKET, for example, which features Heatseeker Eco technology, a durable synthetic insulation. This water-repellent jacket captures body heat, wicks away moisture and repels the cold. Lightweight and compressible, it's ideal for your outdoor escapades.

Long cuts

For those who love the cold, we offer long cuts to keep you warm and brave the harshest winter conditions. Elegant, they combine comfort, warmth and casualness for everyday wear, like the Parajumpers Hybrids Yasmine W, which is both chic and feminine. This hybrid jacket has a quilted section for braving the cold and a stretch section for freedom of movement. As for the Dickies ALATNA LONG jacket, it's made from durable ripstop fabric. And thanks to its stand-up collar, you're protected from the cold as well as the wind and other external elements. Finally, the Canada Goose ALLISTON COAT women's long down jacket protects you down to -15°C thanks to its Thermal Experience Index (TEI 2/5). Padded with duck down, it offers natural insulation so you can enjoy winter walks without worrying about comfort.

If you're looking for an eco-responsible model, many brands offer eco-friendly alternatives such as Picture Organic or The North Face.

How do you choose a quality down jacket?

To choose a quality down jacket, there are several criteria to consider:

- The type of insulation (down or synthetic), depending on your needs and the conditions in which the down jacket will be used;

- The warmth index may vary depending on the insulation and the weight of the jacket. We advise you to choose an index that is appropriate for your activity;

- The loft is a measure of a jacket's compressibility and ability to return to its original shape. The higher the index, the greater the insulation;

- Compressibility: if you're going on a long hike and your pack is heavy, opt for a compressible down jacket that you can carry easily;

- Outer materials: depending on what you're going to use the jacket for, find out how waterproof, windproof and durable the fabric is.

What are down jackets made from?

Advantages of down jackets

If you're looking for a down jacket that keeps you warm, here are the advantages of down insulation:

- High thermal insulation ;

- High loft;

- Lightweight and compressible.

Although difficult to maintain, a jacket made from natural down (goose or duck) has excellent insulating properties thanks to its high loft. It effectively captures and traps warm air, blocking out the cold to ensure good thermal performance.

Advantages of synthetic down jackets

When choosing the material for a good down jacket, the most important criterion is insulation. With insulation and a thin, resistant shell, it creates a real shield against the cold. To maximise warmth, there are two types of insulation: down and synthetic, each with its own advantages and disadvantages.

The advantages of synthetic insulation

- Hydrophobic: high resistance to water;

- Quick drying;

- Easy care.

Although synthetic down jackets are less warm, they are still highly resistant to moisture. It dries quickly and keeps you dry all day long. So you can enjoy a long hike while coping with the changing mountain weather.
